What to Expect
At Dead Gods Tattoo Academy, you’ll immerse yourself in the art and craft of tattooing through hands-on training, one-on-one mentorship, and guided studio practice. Expect an inspiring, high-energy environment where creativity thrives and your confidence grows as you master the fundamentals of art and tattooing.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a strong interest in the tattoo industry. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn, create, and commit. We also require a portfolio and a high school diploma or general education degree.
Our Training & Workshop Environment
We believe in learning by doing. Our academy blends professional instruction with real-world practice in a studio setting within a working tattoo shop. With small class sizes, personalized feedback, and a collaborative creative space, your artistic voice will have room to grow.
Course Outline
Dead Gods Tattoo Academy provides a 6-month program that will be focused on the fundamentals of art and helping students with their goal of becoming a licensed tattoo artist in the state of Oregon.
Our 6-month course is divided into three segments, each focusing on a different aspect of the tattoo industry:
Months 1 & 2: Students will focus in a classroom environment with a series of lectures and textbook assignments.
Months 3 & 4: Students will be paired with one of our experienced artists for a one-on-one mentorship. During this time, students will begin to learn the hands-on skills necessary to be a successful tattoo artist.
Months 5 & 6: Students will begin the process of completing 50 tattoos, as required by the state of Oregon, under the guidance of their assigned mentor.
Once the program is completed, students will be qualified to take their test to become a licensed tattoo artist in the state of Oregon.
